Charles Henderson Animal Rescue: MY THERAPY DOG MONSOOR DIED TODAY

Charles Henderson Animal Rescue: MY THERAPY DOG MONSOOR DIED TODAY:

MY THERAPY DOG MONSOOR DIED TODAY

It is with immense grief and overwhelming sadness as tears run uncontrollably down my face that I am writing to announce the passing just now at 1904 hours on Sunday, April 21 of Monsoor, my amazing and very special dog, a Cane Corso/Italia...n Mastiff. I named Monsoor after Navy SEAL who was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for sacrificing his life to save his fellow SEAL team brothers' lives in Iraq by jumping on top of a live grenade.

Monsoor was rescued from being put to sleep 7 years ago in October, 2006. He was very badly beaten and cruelly & inhumanely abused. When I first took him in, he attacked me 4-5 times pretty bad in the first few weeks after I adopted him but we quickly put that behind us as Monsoor learned that he could trust me and that all I was ever gonna do was love him to death.

Monsoor was trained up and became a certified therapy dog with DELTA Society, now Pet Partners and moved on to become a gentle giant at 150 lbs. He turned into an angel. I never saw the aggressive side of Monsoor again and he loved being a therapy dog and being a big mush. He was a big baby and a teddy bear who loved to cuddle. Monsoor & I would go visit kids in schools, patients in the hospital. homeless people at homeless shelters, the Hurricane Sandy survivors that were displaced and living at the Armory in Park Slope as well as visiting with the veterans at the VA Hospitals in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

I miss him so much already and am truly grateful that God allowed me to rescue him and share his life with me. Thank you for saving me Monsoor and for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. See you on the other side brother. I love you with all my heart Monsoor. Now you can go and play with Archon & Philo in Heaven.

Man I miss you so much dude.

Fair winds, following seas and Godspeed as you head home to Heaven.

I love you Monsoor!!!!!

Love, Daddy

Getting Close But We Need Your Help

Please consider helping Charles Henderson Animal Rescue purchase 125 K9 cabins, 72 cat condos, and 30 isolations kennels so we can really step up what we are doing, namely, rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs and cats that are at risk of being needlessly put to sleep---KILLED---gotten rid of because they are unwanted so they are discarded and thrownaway.

We are getting much closer to opening the new rescue shelter
but we really need your help.

We have rescued and rehomed almost 400 dogs in the past 8 months
but we could be saving and rehoming so many more.

We have a 9000 sq. ft building in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.

We are planning to open the doors May 1, 2013.

We need your help to aid us in purchasing some of the kennels and equipment that we need.

THIS IS THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING

Please consider helping Charles Henderson Animal Rescue purchase
125 K9 cabins
72 cat condos
30 isolations kennels.

TOTAL COST IS: $369,000.

We can really step up what we are doing, namely, rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs and cats that are at risk of being needlessly killed to get rid of them because they are an animal control problem

they are unwanted so they are discarded and thrownaway

unconscionable and unacceptable

Please consider a donation to Charles Henderson Animal Rescue
We are a 501c3 not for profit public charity
your donation is tax deductible

We have rescued and rehomed almost 400 dogs in the past 8 months
but with your help and donations,
we hope to rescue twice as many in the next 8 months.

Become a part of the solution and jump on board our team and what we are doing.  We are a no nonsense, boots on the ground, getting dirty cleaning while we are rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming the rejected of society.

We are getting it done...
....one at a time and as many as we can....
