CHUCKY---CHIHUAHUA
Chucky is a middle aged independent and lovable father of two. His routine consists of chilling out in the morning sunshine after a morning stroll. He loves to roll over on his back and get his chest and belly rubbed before passing out. He is neutered. He is 3‐4 pounds overweight and could use more exercise and a change in diet would do him good. (He probably eats too many bananas.) His teeth need work. He is trained to use a wee‐wee pads. He has a bad rear right leg from a fall from when he was a puppy. He’s developed a limp recently and tends not to use it much. One of his favorite games is him laying on your chest and playing chicken with your nose. He’ll give you a sidelong look before snapping at your nose. He never bites, just clamps gently down on the tip and then he withdraws and tries again. It’s a big sign of trust when he wants to play that way. Although he was never socialized with other dogs, I believe he has the capacity to learn to be around others. He tends to get excited around new people and dogs and he’ll bark. I’ve only seen him snap at people defensively. He has never attacked another person or animal.
As much as I love Chucky, it has become incredibly difficult for me to care for him, the mother of his pups and his two pups. It pains me greatly to have to have them adopted, but I also know he needs a higher quality of life than I can provide. Chucky could survive on his own without too much difficulty. He tolerates his family but would much rather be the center of attention. If I had a wish it would be that he is placed with someone who will give him 100%. He’s earned that. He needs someone to exercise him more, massage his legs, and love him. He will return the love ten‐fold.
Chucky is neutered, dewormed, treated to prevent fleas & ticks and is up to date with all his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $300 and he'll get a free basic exam at one of our participating vet's offices. If you'd like to adopt Chucky, please email us at: charles@charleshendersonanimalrescue.org
